Overview:
It’s tempting to use God as a power for our own benefit. Both the Israelites and Philistines tried that, and both failed. Trading our personal control of God for God’s direction in our lives requires a conscious decision to make God number one in our lives. This change is called repentance—turning around and doing things differently; doing them God’s way instead of our selfish way.
